COVID-19 TESTING
System access to MySHR for COVID-19 test scheduling has returned to normal operating levels. Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, December 2, the perimeter check for access to campus facilities returns to strict enforcement. Individuals who are out of compliance for surveillance testing should schedule and keep a same-day appointment in order to remain in compliance.
FLU COMPLIANCE
Reminder that student/faculty/staff entry to campus facilities using Trojan Check will require flu compliance, beginning on December 17. Appropriate exemption forms may be found online under influenza forms.
If you have not already done so, please complete your flu immunization requirement before this date. For students who are leaving campus and have not yet met the flu requirements for this semester, please plan on completing the flu vaccination prior to attending classes in the Spring 2022 semester, as your Trojan Check access will be affected.
COVID-19 BOOSTERS AND OMICRON VARIANT
As you may have read, the omicron variant of COVID-19 is bringing uncertainty to the course of the pandemic. The CA Department of Public Health has produced an Omicron variant fact sheet about what we know at present, and how we can respond.
One way we can ensure high levels of immunity in our population is to receive a COVID-19 booster; or receive the vaccine if you have not yet done so.
If you have received a J&J vaccine more than 2 months ago, or Pfizer/Moderna vaccine more than 6 months ago, we strongly recommended receiving a COVID-19 booster to ensure continuity of your immune response. Both USC Pharmacies (please complete the pre-screening form) and the CA MyTurn website are available for finding an appointment.
Upload any updated vaccine information, including new booster records into MySHR (a photo of the paper card, or a digital card downloadable from the CA vaccine record system, https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov.) This information will help us keep accurate records of immunity levels in our community.
ADDITIONAL REMINDERS
Today (12/1) is Drug Take Back Day, sponsored by the USC Pharmacies. Pharmacy locations in the USC Student Union (UPC), Jefferson Parking Structure (UPC), Medical Plaza in HC1 (HSC), and Verdugo Hills (1808 Verdugo Blvd Ste 111) are available to take back drugs for safe discarding today.
Tomorrow (12/2) will be our semester-end “Paws and De-Stress” event, with our visiting wellness dogs, Gracie and Campbell, from 12-1:30 PM on Bovard Lawn. Students are invited to take a break and de-stress as we near the end of the semester.
